Named for New York’s eponymous hotel on the Upper East Side, the Carlyle collection is a series of three chairs designed by Kevin Stark for HBF. With gently curved backs crafted from quarter-sawn ash veneer for a contemporary, straight-grain look, Carlyle combines rich materiality with classic architectural forms reduced to their most essential forms. Offered in side, bar, and counter versions with a solid ash or upholstered seat, Carlyle seating series is perfectly at-home in hospitality design, workplace, and even residential applications.

Handsome and sturdy, HBF’s Corfino guest chair reinterprets classic design with the pure, pared down elegance of a disciplined modern aesthetic. Designer Joe Ricchio struck a nice balance between exposed metal frame and upholstery—inspired by the iconic designs of Mies van der Rohe—and offers a timeless solution for contract environments such as conference rooms, offices, and high-end hospitality.

HBF’s Essens seating family represents a perfect harmony of detail, material, and ergonomics. Defined by its timely yet minimal design, OEO Studio’s Thomas Lykke has juxtaposed rich materials—solid wood, metal, leather, textile—and created this contract office seating series that blends Danish sensibility with American craft. The wood seat and back evokes a feeling of comfort and quality, adding posture and refinement. The use of metal adds precision to the design as well as a sense of modernity. The Essens chairs are perfectly suited for a progressive office environment and even a WFH setup.

The Karina chair, designed by Glyn Peter Machin for HBF, evokes classic Scandinavian design while establishing a contemporary aesthetic. Each element of Karina is carefully shaped: not one straight regular-cut component exists within the design of the chair. All elements flow effortlessly from leg to arm to back rest, making each chair appear to be a single molded entity—strong, yet almost weightless. Karina is also defined by its exposed tenons, clean lines, light-weight construction, highly detailed curvaceous forms, and floating, finely tailored leather upholstery. Karina is equally at home in the conference room or the dining room.

Designed by Todd Bracher, HBF’s Nest is a comprehensive furniture collection created to foster social connection and nurture collaboration. The guest and lounge seating enhance the versatility of functional occasional tables; the combination offers a refined solution easily adaptable to many environments. The Nest chair, in particular, combines semi-translucent mesh back and steam-bent wood and gives it a sense of lightness and sophistication—enhanced by the gracefully slanted arms and beautifully detailed polished base. The futuristic Nest series look and feel different from traditional lounge furniture, while speaking to HBF’s expertise in wood through the framing.

Designer Todd Bracher pays tribute to the “casual café” style seen in modern contract spaces and created this versatile and easy to use Andaz series of chairs for HBF. Whether it’s a co-working space or an airy restaurant, the Andaz chairs are meant to be functional, adaptable, and seamlessly blend within a range of environments. Andaz achieves aesthetic flexibility with a modern, clean palette and range of upholstery, wood, and paint styles.
