Named for New York’s eponymous hotel on the Upper East Side, the Carlyle collection is a series of three chairs designed by Kevin Stark for HBF. With gently curved backs crafted from quarter-sawn ash veneer for a contemporary, straight-grain look, Carlyle combines rich materiality with classic architectural forms reduced to their most essential forms. Offered in side, bar, and counter versions with a solid ash or upholstered seat, Carlyle seating series is perfectly at-home in hospitality design, workplace, and even residential applications.

Handsome and sturdy, HBF’s Corfino guest chair reinterprets classic design with the pure, pared down elegance of a disciplined modern aesthetic. Designer Joe Ricchio struck a nice balance between exposed metal frame and upholstery—inspired by the iconic designs of Mies van der Rohe—and offers a timeless solution for contract environments such as conference rooms, offices, and high-end hospitality.

HBF’s Essens seating family represents a perfect harmony of detail, material, and ergonomics. Defined by its timely yet minimal design, OEO Studio’s Thomas Lykke has juxtaposed rich materials—solid wood, metal, leather, textile—and created this contract office seating series that blends Danish sensibility with American craft. The wood seat and back evokes a feeling of comfort and quality, adding posture and refinement. The use of metal adds precision to the design as well as a sense of modernity. The Essens chairs are perfectly suited for a progressive office environment and even a WFH setup.

Designed by HBF’s in-house team, the Max chair series brings residential design warmth to contract design environments. Its plush seating invites users to catch up on work or sit back and relax: the height and width of the square arm are designed to be comfortable for writing level or use with a tablet or small laptop. Max also boasts an optional down-filled, modernized knife edged back pillow constructed for support and comfortable posture. Max’s base options include a minimally constructed metal base to create a modern look or a softly curved wooden base for a more transitional aesthetic.

Todd Bracher’s Universal Collection for HBF perfectly embodies its name: tables with universal appeal, perfectly at-home in a multitude of applications. This café table collection speaks to the way modern workplace functions, with work happening beyond the office and moving into any environment where the users are most comfortable. Available in a variety of heights ranging from Occasional (16”–18”) to Bar (41”–42”), the Universal Table collection is also incredibly customizable: designers can mix and match the polished aluminum, white, black, or gray legs with a range of top options, including wood, solid surface, glass, or engineered quartz.
